WhatsApp new feature: Expiring message, WhatsApp Pay

With more than 2 billion users globally, WhatsApp is probably the most popular messaging app. It is now set to launch plenty of new features that will provide its user a smooth messaging and calling experience.

With the dark mode finally arrived, WhatsApp is now going to introduce new features such as always mute option, search the web, Self-destructing message, WhatsApp pay, and many more.

Although, some of these features are still under-development and its official release has not been confirmed yet but according to the source these features may be released soon.

Here is the list of WhatsApp new features that soon to be rolling out :

Always mute option

This is the one feature that I personally waiting for. Every WhatsApp user might have been associated with some groups which they just cannot leave and also don’t likely to receive notifications for. Well, this feature comes in handy for them, as it will allow them to mute the group indefinitely.

Search the web option

Ah! finally, this feature will be coming soon. This will be really helpful for the people who graduated from the ‘WhatsApp news University’. I am saying this because many users just forward a message without even knowing whether it is genuine or not. This feature will help the user to debunk the frequently forwarded messages and stop the spread of fake news and misinformation on its platform. With this feature, WhatsApp will allow its user to check the authenticity of the forwarded message. This will prevent them from being ill-informed.

Self destructing message

This feature is not new. Most of the other social messaging platform has this feature already. While Twitter has already made it a popular feature, WhatsApp might soon introduce it in the coming release. This feature allows the user to send a message that will expire or self-destruct after a certain period of time. As of now, this feature is still under development. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is still improving its UI and other things.

Dark Mode on WhatsApp Web

After the arrival of a dark mode on Mobile App, WhatsApp had announced that it will soon release dark mode for WhatsApp Web as well. So after several months, dark mode is finally released on its desktop version as well.

Multiple devices support

According to the source i.e WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has been working on the said feature. This feature will let the user link their WhatsApp account to multiple devices. Users can access their WhatsApp account on multiple devices such as tablets or smartphones. This feature is still under-development and soon to be rolling out.

ShareChat player

WhatsApp had promised to introduce a separate player for ShareChat Video Service, a famous Indian Social network where you can discover various types of content, like photos and videos. This feature will allow WhatsApp users to watch ShareChat Videos within the app in the picture-in-picture mode as they watch YouTube videos. Currently, it is available in the latest version of WhatsApp beta for iOS and Android.

WhatsApp Pay

WhatsApp is all set to launch its Payment Service in India with the National Payment Corporation of India(NPCI) informing RBI that it has met the data localization requirement. According to liveMint, NPCI has told the Central Bank that it(NPCI) was satisfied with the WhatsApp compliance on the data localization requirement and good to go live on the Unified Payments Interface(UPI).

A WhatsApp spokesperson said the company is ready to provide payment services to users in India soon.
